In Uganda, many communities face a dual crisis—severe water scarcity and limited access to education and healthcare. Rural populations are burdened by the long hours required to fetch water from contaminated sources, which also affects women’s and children’s opportunities for schooling and economic advancement.

Zamzami’s Uganda Appeal focuses on addressing these intertwined challenges by improving water access through the construction of wells, boreholes, and water tanks, as well as supporting education and healthcare initiatives. By reducing the time spent on water collection, the appeal empowers communities to invest more in education and income-generating activities, thereby fostering long-term resilience and development.
